Ditching Digital

It's been probably half a year since I picked up my first 35mm film SLR camera, the Zenit E. The Soviet brick has accompanied me on a few trips now but its been a lot of testing, reading and experimenting. Results have varied but half the fun is wondering what you will get back from the developing studio.

Local auto store always has interesting cars out the front, like this petite Suzuki Cappucino

It didn’t take long to figure out that I needed a new lens as the Elicar 35mm f2.8 I had was not the sharpest or fastest lens and during a weekend away it was promptly replaced with a Asahi Super Takumar 50mm f1.4.

With the start of my new job I’ve halved the number of events I normally attend which means I’m often frantically trying to take as many photos as I can, this leaves the Russian often left at the bottom of my travel bag. However packing for the Revolution Motorsports drift demo I crammed in 3 rolls I had left in the fridge and told myself I couldn’t drive home until all 3 were full.

The shots took a lot longer than I expected to get developed almost a month since the event happened and they only just arrived, half to my own laziness, but I was rather happy with the results.

Hopefully I can continue to take film alongside with my digital stuff in the future, It’s a lot of fun and the end results look a thousand times better than any filters do.
